The Individual Player Rating System (IPRS) is a national evaluation framework developed by FH College Path to assess field hockey athletes across the United States using verified competitive achievements. The system translates participation and progression within the official USA Field Hockey pathway into a clear, standardized rating that can be easily understood by athletes, families, clubs, and college coaches.

The IPRS represents the natural next step following the College Path Players initiative, used for the Classes of 2026 and 2027. As field hockey continues to grow nationally and NCAA recruiting becomes increasingly competitive, the IPRS provides a long-needed structure that reflects true national competitive achievement rather than visibility or reputation.

The system is built directly on the official USA Field Hockey development pathway, including Nexus Championship, Junior Olympics, Junior National Team Selection Camps (JUSWNT Selection Camp), Junior U.S. Women's National Team (JUSWNT), Junior U.S. Women's National Indoor Team (JUSWNIT) and their respective Outdoor and Indoor travel teams.

The IPRS uses a dual-layer evaluation model. The IPRS Star Rating represents an athlete's verified progression through the official USA Field Hockey pathway. The IPRS Ranking Score (Points) is a separate, internal score used only to determine placement within the rankings among athletes who share the same star level.

Through this structure, athletes and families gain a transparent understanding of how national athletic achievements translate into a meaningful rating. College coaches receive a reliable tool for identifying prospects capable of making an immediate impact at the NCAA level.

To provide clarity and accessibility, FH College Path presents The IPRS Star Rating and The IPRS Ranking Score (Points) below:

FH College Path also recognizes that access to national USA Field Hockey events may be limited by geography, travel demands, or financial constraints. To support equity, FH College Path is developing IPRS Evaluation Events led by professional coaches using standardized high-performance criteria.

The first official IPRS release will debut with the Class of 2028, establishing the foundation for annual updates and future expansion.

The IPRS is more than a rating system — it is a unified standard for how field hockey talent is identified, measured, and understood.
